April fishing has started off great with a good bull redfish bite and good sight fishing for 4-8lb class redfish and sea trout. Fishing the bull reds around tidal times and then spending the rest of the day sight fishing has proven to be a good combination this month. Snook have already become active and have been offering up chances early in the morning and sometimes even mid day depending on the tide. With warm temperatures, tarpon should arrive soon, along with other nearshore favorites like giant jack crevalle and false albacore. The cobia migration is winding up with a warm and early spring but chances still exist when we come across rays. There are opportunities at all these fish for fly and spin anglers alike from advanced anglers to novices. As we move towards May the fishing should continue to be solid with more opportunities at more species each day. Despite the Covid-19 shutdowns, fishing is classified as an essential activity and we remain healthy and open for business.
