Mid summer is here and the fishing that comes with it is happening now. Big tarpon, big reds, big sharks, false albacore along with snook and big jacks on the right days make this a fun time of year to fish.
July and August offer some of the calmest weather conditions of the year allowing us to target nearshore species on most days. Cruising up and down both Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach can produce a variety of opportunities. Inshore fishing in the Ponce Inlet and Mosquito Lagoon areas has been good for bull redfish and some tarpon. When the tides and conditions are right, big snook can be a fun target as well. Sight fishing remains an option for fly anglers in Mosquito Lagoon. Capt. Billy Rotne Ponce Inlet Charters (386) 290-9897
