Late May fishing continues to be awesome!
As we enter the later stage of May, the fishing continues to be great in Ponce Inlet, New Smyrna, and Mosquito Lagoon. Lots of big bull redfish, fun sight fishing in the back country for 4-8lb class redfish and sea trout, and some snook around as well. Tarpon are here and starting to stage in their feeding areas. Early June should provide calmer seas and good beach fishing for these large tarpon. Giant 20-30lb jack crevalle and blitzing false albacore tuna are also making nearshore fishing a lot of fun on light tackle. Whether you’re a fly fisherman, a person looking for a fish of a lifetime, or a family who wants to enjoy some time together on the boat, this is a great time of year to get out and enjoy the water. With covid-19 winding down, nothing feels more normal and relaxing than a stress free day on the water. Contact Capt. Billy Rotne to book a Ponce Inlet fishing charter, call: 386-290-9897
